What does Vizard Agent actually do?
Almost every step is a measurement of when something appeared or disappeared, because a popup has to be cut to the frame or its edge flickers. Rather than watching for the save-password popup, Vizard Agent measures the corner of the screen where it appears, so its in and out frames come out as numbers. In the session behind this article it:
- Checked the 62.5-second recording, 1892x922 at 30fps and made for a university thesis defence, and built a contact sheet of key frames to learn the flow.
- Timed the sign-in popup by extracting frames around it and analysing the frame differences at the start.
- Measured the average pixel intensity of the email and password fields to detect typing, and the pixel difference to find the frame the dashboard first appeared.
- Cropped the top-right corner and tracked its mean and standard deviation to catch when the save-password popup showed.
- Analysed frame-to-frame differences across the whole video to find every page transition, keeping all seven steps in their original order.
When does this not work well?
Removing interruptions is surgery on one continuous recording, and some interruptions are load-bearing. A popup in the middle of an interaction can't be cut without cutting the action, and a real error message should stay. Personal data on screen is a separate blur pass.
Common questions
Will it keep my steps in order? Yes, if you say so. Vizard Agent will not resequence a demonstration.
What if a popup is mid-click? Vizard Agent flags interruptions that cannot be cut cleanly.
Why not just re-record? Because the popups come back. Re-recording usually produces a different interruption rather than none.
