How to crop to the subject of each shot when it is not a face
Tell Vizard Agent which shots are about the product rather than the person. Automatic vertical reframing follows faces, which is right for a talking shot and wrong for a close-up of the thing you are selling. Vizard Agent measures where the object sits in each of those shots, re-anchors the crop to hold it whole, and leaves the face-led shots as they were.

What does Vizard Agent actually do?
An object doesn't sit in the same place in every shot. It's held up in one and on a table in another, so one anchor point can't serve them all and each shot needs its own measurement. A rule applied to the whole film would break the half it wasn't meant for, so Vizard Agent keeps two groups. In the session behind this article it:
- Reframed a product reel to vertical with a face-led first pass and reviewed it: exactly right for half the film and quietly wrong for the other half.
- Identified the shots where the object was the subject.
- Mapped the object's position in each source shot, measuring where it actually sat and reading the positions off as numbers rather than estimating.
- Re-cropped those shots anchored to the object and checked the new framing on real frames.
- Left the face-led shots untouched, then confirmed the two groups still cut together without the subject jumping position at a join.
When does this not work well?
Some frames cannot hold both. If the person and the product are at opposite edges of a wide shot, a vertical crop has to choose, and the answer is either a different shot or a layout that shows both. An object that moves across the frame needs tracking, and in a very wide shot cropping to the object loses the context.
Common questions
Can it tell which shots are which? Often, but Vizard Agent will ask when the shot could be either.
What if the object moves? Then Vizard Agent tracks it rather than using a fixed anchor.
Does it work on a finished cut? Yes, and Vizard Agent re-renders only the shots whose crop changes.
