How to fix a patched-out graphic that flickers back into shot

What does Vizard Agent actually do?

Here is the order on a real set of vertical podcast clips where the original show's banner survived the crop. The first patch was built from one frame and looked perfect until the clip was watched from the beginning.

  1. Watches the uploaded clip back and confirms the flash.
  2. Pulls the first seconds at full resolution.
  3. Measures the graphic's extent on those frames.
  4. Inspects the raw region rather than trusting the numbers.
  5. Tracks the graphic across the clip to see where it moves.

Step five is the step that was missing the first time. A single frame tells you where the graphic is, not where it goes, and an overlay that slides or grows will always beat a patch sized from its resting position.

Step nine matters because an oversized patch is its own fault. A clean-up region far larger than the graphic smears a visible rectangle of the picture, so Vizard Agent shrinks it back until it is the smallest area that still covers the travel.

Step eleven is the cheap win. If one clip from a source has a leftover graphic, the others almost certainly do too, so Vizard Agent checks that band across all of them rather than waiting for you to find the next one.

What does the result look like?

A clip that is clean from the first frame through to the last, patched over an area small enough that you do not notice the repair even when you know exactly where in the frame to look for it. The flash is gone and nothing else about the picture has changed.

Vizard Agent also reports the other clips it checked, which is usually where the second problem was hiding.

When does this not work well?

Some graphics cannot be patched at all. If the overlay covers a large part of the picture, sits over moving detail, or the underlying footage is simply not there behind it, the honest answer is to reframe or re-source rather than to keep growing a patch.

How do you fix a result that came back wrong?

Say what you can see and roughly when you see it. Because Vizard Agent is working from a measured region, "it still flashes" and "I can see the patch" lead to exactly opposite adjustments, so it is worth being specific about which of the two you actually mean.

How does Vizard Agent compare to doing it yourself?

By hand the natural move is to pause on a frame, drag a box over the graphic, and apply it to the whole clip. That works for a static watermark and fails for anything that animates, which is most broadcast graphics.

Why does it only flash at the start? Because that is when the graphic animates in. Vizard Agent measures that.

Can it just cover the whole edge? It can, but Vizard Agent will tighten it so the repair stays invisible.
