How to fix generated dialogue that cuts off after the first word
Tell Vizard Agent the dialogue sounds broken up. It checks whether each line is actually complete. A common cause is a step that trims silence and stops at the first pause inside a line, so only the opening word survives. It removes that step, or trims only the silence at each line's edges, and confirms every line plays whole.
What do you type into Vizard Agent?
Say what you hear, like broken or choppy dialogue, and where. That is enough for Vizard Agent to look inside each line. If only the first word or two of each line plays and then there is silence, say that too, because it points at the trimming rather than the timing.

What does Vizard Agent actually do?
It checks each generated line on its own before looking at the mix. Generated voice clips usually come with silence at both ends, and the step that removes it can remove far more than that if it is set to stop at the first quiet moment. In the session behind this article it:
- First blamed the pacing, since six lines had been sped up about 1.45 times to fit 13 seconds, re-spaced them at normal speed and stretched the video to 18.5 seconds.
- Had the new version reviewed and still heard only the first word or two of each line followed by dead air, so pacing had not been the cause.
- Found that the silence-trimming step in every line's chain was set to stop at the first pause, which cut each line off after its first word or breath.
- Removed that step from all six lines, replaced an inaudible ring tone with two short generated beeps, and checked the waveform: six complete speech shapes.
- Had all six lines confirmed whole on a watch-back. The user moved on to asking for more natural voices.
When does this not work well?
When the voice itself breaks up. If a generated take has gaps or glitches inside it, removing the trimming won't help, and that line needs to be generated again. Checking each raw take before anything is trimmed tells the two problems apart.
Common questions
Is it the voice or the edit? Usually the edit. Vizard Agent checks each line on its own.
Why does only the first word play? A trim stopped at the first pause. Vizard Agent removes it.
Will the timing change? Vizard Agent re-spaces the lines so each one finishes first.
