How to get crisp text edges on a black card
Tell Vizard Agent the type looks soft and that you want the edges cleaner. It strips every effect off the letters, from the outer stroke to any glow, bloom, shadow or feathering, then renders them as a solid fill at the same size and colour. It inspects the result at full resolution, the only size where a soft edge is visible at all.
What do you type into Vizard Agent?
Rule out the effects one by one, and list everything that must stay the same. It reads as excessive and isn't: each effect is something a renderer adds by default in some configuration, and naming them individually is faster than discovering which one is responsible. The fix is subtraction, so the list is short. Most of the work is confirming it at a size where the difference exists, because soft edges are invisible in a timeline preview and obvious on a cinema screen. When does this not work well?
Some softness isn't in the rendering. Type that has been through a low-bitrate video encode, scaled up from a smaller card or composited over moving footage carries artefacts no clean rendering removes. Very thin faces struggle against black at any setting, and if a design wants a deliberate glow, say so.
