Ask Vizard Agent to clean up the ending without cutting your last words. Trimming before the reach would chop off your thank you, so it stops the picture on the last frame before your arm moves, holds it while the words finish, and fades picture and sound out together so the hold reads as an ending.

What do you type into Vizard Agent?

Say what is wrong with the last seconds and what has to survive. If you only ask for a better ending, a trim at the point where you start moving is the obvious fix, and it usually takes the final word with it because people start reaching before they finish talking.

Improve the exit at the end. I reach for the phone to stop recording while I'm still saying thank you. Hide that, but keep the whole last sentence.

What does Vizard Agent actually do?

It separates the picture from the sound at the end of the video. The words decide when the video is allowed to stop, and the first frame of the reach decides when the picture has to stop moving, so the gap between the two is covered by a held frame. In the session behind this article it:

When does this not work well?

When you start reaching long before the last sentence. A hold of a second or so reads as a pause; a still frame under five seconds of talking looks like the video broke, and a cutaway or a closing card works better. It also fails if the camera was already moving in your hand, because there is no clean frame to hold.

Common questions

Why not just cut before I reach? Your last words are usually still going. Vizard Agent holds the picture instead.

Will the freeze look obvious? Not with a fade. Vizard Agent fades picture and sound together.

What if I reach early? Ask Vizard Agent for a closing card over the last line instead.
