How to put your race and its replays on one screen in sync
Upload the recordings and tell Vizard Agent which sound to keep. It lines the angles up by their engine sound where that works and checks the offset holds from start to finish. A replay whose sound doesn't match gets locked on the start-finish line it crosses every lap instead. Then all three go into one vertical frame.
What do you type into Vizard Agent?
Say what has to line up and which sound you want. Three engines playing at once sound like an echo, so name one. If a recording is a trackside replay, say so, because its sound may not match the car's and Vizard Agent will need something visual to sync it on.
Put the 3 videos on one vertical screen and sync them with each other, every corner, every acceleration, every braking point. Keep only the original engine sound.
What does Vizard Agent actually do?
It syncs the whole race, not one moment. When three angles play at once, any drift shows everywhere, so the offset has to be measured at several points and has to stay the same. In the session behind this article it:
- Compared the engine sound of the driving view and the cockpit replay in 50-second windows at eight points across the nine-minute race. All eight gave the same 12.1-second offset, so there was no drift.
- Found the trackside replay would not line up by sound: its best matches were weak and scattered across almost three minutes.
- Read the replay's driver list to confirm it followed the same car, then matched the moment the car crosses the start-finish line on the first lap and on laps 2, 3 and 5. The offset came out at 1.15 seconds and held to the last lap.
- When two automated reviews of a preview disagreed about that offset, went with its own frame-by-frame strips.
- Stacked the three angles in a 1080×1920 frame and kept only the cockpit sound, lowered 1.5 dB because it peaked just above zero.
When does this not work well?
When a replay skips or changes speed. A single offset assumes every recording runs at real time from start to finish. A replay with cuts, slow-motion highlights or a paused menu in the middle needs a separate offset for each section, so tell Vizard Agent where those breaks are.
Common questions
Why not sync everything by sound? Replays can carry different sound. Vizard Agent checks each angle.
Will the three engines echo? No. Vizard Agent keeps one angle's sound only.
How does it know the sync holds? Vizard Agent measures the offset at several points in the race.
