How to remove a laugh that runs into the last word someone says
Tell Vizard Agent exactly what the noise is and where it sits. It measures the sound in tiny steps to find a gap between the word and the laugh. When the laugh starts inside the word and every cut loses one or keeps the other, it regenerates just that word in the speaker's own cloned voice and drops it in place.
What do you type into Vizard Agent?
Describe the sound and say where it sits, like a short laugh right at the end. If a trim takes the word with it, say so, because that tells Vizard Agent the two are fused. Asking for the same word regenerated is the fix that keeps the wording exactly as it was.
There's a little "heh", almost like a hiccup, right at the end. Remove it but keep the last word. If you can't cut it cleanly, recreate the word with AI.
What does Vizard Agent actually do?
It tries a clean trim first and treats regeneration as the last resort. A laugh that starts before the word has finished cannot be cut out, because the sound around the join belongs to both. In the session behind this article it:
- Measured the tail in 2-millisecond steps, found the burst rising from −37 to −10 dB within 20 milliseconds, and replaced it with the music bed. That also took the end of the final word, and the user noticed.
- Listened to the word and the moment after it as separate clips: the word ran straight into a breathy chuckle, with no gap to cut at.
- Cloned the speaker's voice from a clean 12-second stretch of the same recording and generated the whole closing sentence, so the last word had a natural falling ending.
- Located that word in the new take by transcription, cut it out, matched its level to the speaker's previous word, and laid it in where the original had been.
- Filled the rest of the tail with the music bed, confirmed every sample before the patch was unchanged, and copied the picture untouched. The user replied "wonderful".
When does this not work well?
When the mouth is clearly visible on that word. A regenerated word never lasts exactly as long as the original, and a close-up can show the lips finishing early or late. Keep the new word the same length, or cover the moment with a cutaway.
Common questions
Why not just cut the laugh? It starts inside the word. Vizard Agent checks for a gap first.
Does the wording change? No. Vizard Agent regenerates the same word in the same voice.
Will it sound pasted in? Vizard Agent generates the whole sentence so the word ends naturally.
