How to rework an existing video into a paid ad
Upload the video and tell Vizard Agent it is going to run as a paid advertisement. Vizard Agent transcribes it, detects the scene changes, measures the audio levels, reads the opening frames at full resolution, and rebuilds the front of the video around what a scrolling viewer actually sees.
What is the short version?
A video that works perfectly well organically often fails as an advertisement, because an ad is watched by people who did not choose to watch it. The first two seconds carry a completely different burden, and most of the reworking happens right there.
- Go to Vizard Agent and upload the existing video.
- Say it is running as paid rather than organic.
- Say the platform, since the format and the rules differ.
What do you need before you start?
The video and an honest read on what it is selling. Vizard Agent reworks the edit, but no edit compensates for an unclear offer, and knowing what the ad is meant to make somebody do shapes every decision about the opening.
- The video. As it currently runs.
- The offer. What the viewer should do.
- The platform. It sets the shape and the length.
- The audience. Cold, or people who know you.
- What must stay. Claims, disclaimers, branding.
What do you type into Vizard Agent?
Say paid, and say the platform. Vizard Agent treats an advertisement differently from an ordinary edit — the opening is rebuilt for people who did not choose to watch, and the captions assume the sound is off — and both of those follow from naming the placement.
Prompt
Variants worth knowing:
- A rebuilt opening. The first two seconds reworked.
- Sound-off legibility. Captions carrying the message.
- Several openings. To test against each other.
What does Vizard Agent actually do?
Here is the order Vizard Agent worked in on a real rework of an existing video into an advertisement. The measuring comes before the editing: the scenes, the levels and the opening frames are all read before anything changes.
- Analyses the video and its technical properties.
- Transcribes the spoken audio to see what is actually said.
- Extracts preview frames and reads the contact sheet.
- Analyses the audio track across the whole video.
- Checks the available tools and the advertisement template.
- Checks the available video effects.
- Detects the scene changes in the existing edit.
- Downloads the source and captures the individual scenes, then measures the loudness of the audio.
- Checks the voiceover options and extracts high-resolution frames to examine the opening closely.
Step 9's second half is the important one. The opening frame is the entire advertisement for most of the people who see it, and reading it at full resolution — what is legible, what is recognisable, what a thumb pausing for half a second takes in — is what the rework is based on.
What does the result look like?
The video this was built from measures 1080x1920, H.264, 30fps, 23.3 seconds. What comes back is the same material with the opening rebuilt, the levels evened out, captions carrying the message without sound, and the offer arriving before the point where most people leave.
Nothing is promised about performance. Reach and cost depend on the platform, the audience and the offer far more than on the edit; what an edit can do is remove the reasons somebody scrolls past.
When does this not work well?
An advertisement is judged by results, and most of what determines those sits well outside the video file itself. These are the limits worth being clear about before you expect an edit from Vizard Agent to change your numbers.
- No edit fixes a weak offer. If the proposition is unclear, the ad fails.
- Nobody can promise reach. Delivery is the platform's decision, not the edit's.
- Ad rules vary and change. What is allowed differs by platform and by category.
- Claims stay your responsibility. Anything asserted is yours to substantiate.
- Organic and paid want different things. A well-loved video may still not convert.
How do you fix a result that came back wrong?
Say what is not working and where you think it fails. Vizard Agent keeps the transcript, the scene detection, all the loudness measurements and the opening frames, so the hook or the pacing can change without re-analysing it.
- "The hook is still slow." Rebuilt from a different scene in the source.
- "The offer arrives too late." Moved forward against the transcript.
- "It is unreadable without sound." Captions restyled and re-timed.
How does Vizard Agent compare to doing it yourself?
By hand this means watching your own video and trying to judge its opening as a stranger would, which is close to impossible — you know what is coming, so the first two seconds always seem clearer to you than they are.
| By hand | Vizard Agent | |
|---|---|---|
| The opening | Judged by someone who knows it | Read at full resolution, as shown |
| Structure | Trimmed by feel | Scene changes detected first |
| Levels | Left as they were | Measured and evened |
| Sound off | Assumed fine | Captions built for it |
Common questions
Will this get me more views? Nobody can promise that. Vizard Agent removes reasons to scroll past; reach is the platform's call.
What actually changes? Mostly the opening, the pacing and the captions. Vizard Agent rebuilds the front of it.
Does the whole video get recut? Not necessarily. Vizard Agent often finds the material is fine and only the opening needs work.
Why does the opening matter so much? Because an ad is shown to people who did not choose it, and most of them decide in under two seconds.
Can it make several versions? Yes. Vizard Agent builds different openings over the same body, which is the usual way to test.
Will it work without sound? That is the assumption. Vizard Agent builds the captions to carry the message on their own.
Can it keep my disclaimer? Yes. Name anything that must stay and Vizard Agent preserves it exactly.
Does it know the platform's ad rules? It follows what you tell it. Rules vary by category and change, so check them yourself.
Is an organic video a good starting point? Sometimes. A video people liked still has to survive being shown to strangers.
How short should a paid version be? Shorter than the organic one, usually. Vizard Agent trims toward the offer, because a viewer who did not choose the video gives it far less time than a subscriber does.
Can I run the original and the reworked version together? Yes, and comparing them is the only honest test. Vizard Agent produces the new version without altering the old one, so both can run against the same audience.
Should the branding come first? Almost never. Vizard Agent leads on whatever gives a stranger a reason to stay, because a logo in the first second is a cost paid before anyone has decided to watch.
Does the aspect ratio need to change? Often. Vizard Agent reframes to whatever the placement expects, since a widescreen video in a vertical feed loses most of its screen before it says anything.
Does Vizard Agent check the result? Yes. It reviews the opening frames and the levels before delivery.
