How to stop phone HDR clips making your finished video flash purple

Last updated 2026-10-10 · 2 min read

Tell Vizard Agent where you see the purple flashing. It first checks the delivered file is identical to its master, then reads the colour tags on the export and on every source clip. When HDR tags from phone clips have been stamped onto a mixed edit, it converts each shot to standard colour, tags the whole file consistently and scans every frame for magenta.

What do you type into Vizard Agent?

Describe what you saw and ask why, rather than asking for a re-export. A plain re-export keeps whatever went wrong in the first one, while a "why" sends Vizard Agent to the file's own metadata, which is where problems like this usually live.

There is a lot of purple flashing when I play the video. Why is that?

What does Vizard Agent actually do?

It separates "the picture is wrong" from "the picture is labelled wrong". Recent phones record in HDR, and if those clips go into an edit alongside ordinary photos and clips, the export can end up labelled as HDR while holding standard pictures, and players handle that mismatch in different ways. In the session behind this article it:

When does this not work well?

When the flashing comes from the player rather than the file. Vizard Agent can make the tags correct and consistent, but it cannot see your device's screen, so watch the new file on the device where you saw the problem. Damaged source clips produce colour glitches that no conversion removes.

Was it my phone clips? Possibly. Vizard Agent probes every source to find out.

How do I know it is fixed? Vizard Agent scans every frame, but check on your own device too.
