How to swap the artwork in a framed-print video and keep the reflections on the glass
Send Vizard Agent your artwork and say it must appear exactly as supplied. It measures the frame's inner edges in every frame of the camera move, warps your file into that opening without repainting it, separates the light on the glass from the old print, and lays that light back over your artwork so the reflections survive.
What do you type into Vizard Agent?
Ask for an exact reproduction and say what the glass should do. A generated replacement redraws your art, which is the one thing that must not change, and a plain insert loses the reflections that make the shot believable. Stating both limits points Vizard Agent at a composite rather than a regeneration.
Replace the artwork in the frame with my uploaded original, exactly, at its original aspect ratio, without cropping or stretching. Glass reflections can stay but must be subtle and not hide the artwork. Everything else stays identical.
What does Vizard Agent actually do?
It treats the glass as a layer of light that happens to sit over the old picture. Remove the old picture from that layer and what remains is the reflection, which can then go over anything. In the session behind this article it:
- Measured the frame's inner edges with a line detector on key frames, refit all four edges on each of 193 frames, and checked close-up crops to tell the inner edge from the wooden bevel.
- Asked the user how to handle a 2:3 artwork in a 3:4 opening, and used slim neutral margins as chosen.
- Built the reflection layer from the live frame minus the old print, kept only the brighter light, capped its strength, and laid it over the new artwork.
- Re-applied the frame's inner shadow to the new print and treated the opening dissolve separately.
- Proved the rest of the shot was unchanged by pixel difference outside the frame and an audio hash, then fixed a faint edge seam and checked the margins for flicker.
When does this not work well?
When the reflection covers most of the glass. If a window's whole image sits on the print, separating light from picture becomes guesswork and the new artwork looks washed out. Strong camera motion blur on the frame edges also makes the opening harder to measure precisely.
Common questions
Will my artwork be redrawn? No. Vizard Agent inserts your exact file.
What if the shapes don't match? Vizard Agent asks: margins or a crop.
Will the glass still reflect? Yes. Vizard Agent keeps the light and removes the old print.
