Vizard Agent

How to cut several versions of a music video from one shoot without reusing takes

Ask Vizard Agent for each new version to favour takes the earlier ones did not use. It syncs every take to the song once, logs exactly which seconds of which clip each version used, builds the next version from the unused material, and reports how many seconds overlap with the earlier cuts before it hands anything over.

What do you type into Vizard Agent?

Say what "different" means for you. Without it, each new edit gravitates to the same strongest moments, because they are the strongest, and the versions end up as remixes of one cut. Naming takes as the thing to vary, while lip sync stays fixed, gives the agent a rule it can measure.

Make version 3. Prioritise takes and moments that were not heavily used in versions 1 and 2, and don't recreate the same shot order or cut sequence. Lip sync is non-negotiable.

What does Vizard Agent actually do?

It treats the footage pool as an inventory that versions draw down. A usage log turns "make it different" into a number, which is what lets it prove a new version is new rather than describe it as fresh. In the session behind this article it:

When does this not work well?

When the pool is small. With a handful of takes, the best moments run out by the second or third version, and later versions get weaker as they avoid them. Say whether you would rather reuse a great take than use a poor one.

Common questions

Why do my versions all look the same? They reuse the best takes. Vizard Agent logs usage and avoids it.

Will lip sync suffer? No. Vizard Agent syncs every take to the song first.

How different is each version? Vizard Agent measures the seconds of overlap and tells you.
