How to fix pale, flat-looking footage of a person

What does Vizard Agent actually do?
Most footage of people that looks bad is under-lit and flat, which reads as pale skin and soft detail. The correction is a narrow range, and a little too far turns the person orange. So it does not guess one setting and apply it: it makes several on stills and compares them, because testing a still costs nothing and testing video costs a render. In the session behind this article it:

When does this not work well?
Correction redistributes what the camera recorded. Where the light was wrong at the time, there is a limit to how much can be repaired afterwards, and pushing past it looks worse than the original problem. Lifting a face out of shadow lifts the noise with it, and sharpening is not resolution: a soft 720p recording sharpened is a clearer soft recording.
Common questions
Will it change how I look? It changes light, colour and clarity. Vizard Agent does not reshape features, and if you want it kept conservative, say so.
Will it trim my video too? Only if you ask. Say "do not cut anything" if you want correction alone.
