How to make a video built to be forwarded on WhatsApp
Upload the video and tell Vizard Agent it is going to be passed around in chats. Vizard Agent transcribes it, measures the screen bands and the audio, compares candidate frames to pick a cover that makes somebody curious, and builds the cover, the end card and the on-screen bands around it.
What is the short version?
A video sent in a chat is a small thumbnail with a play button on it. Whether anybody opens it is decided by that one frame, which makes choosing the cover a more important decision than most of the edit.
- Go to Vizard Agent and upload the video.
- Say it is for sharing in chats rather than posting to a feed.
- Say what should make somebody curious enough to open it.
What do you need before you start?
The video and a sense of what the hook is. Vizard Agent chooses the cover frame and builds all the framing around it, but what makes your particular audience curious enough to open something is knowledge only you have about them.
- The video. As it stands.
- The audience. Who is being sent this.
- The curiosity. What makes them open it.
- The shape. Vertical, for a phone.
- The ending. What the last card should say.
What do you type into Vizard Agent?
Say it is for forwarding rather than for posting. Vizard Agent builds differently for a chat: a deliberate cover frame, bands that read at thumbnail size, and an ending that gives somebody a reason to pass it on rather than a call to follow.
Prompt
Variants worth knowing:
- A chosen cover frame. Rather than whatever the first frame is.
- Bands over the top and bottom. Framing the picture and carrying text.
- An end card. Where a feed video would have a follow prompt.
What does Vizard Agent actually do?
Here is the order Vizard Agent worked in on a real edit built for passing around in chats. The decision that matters most comes late in the run: it compared several candidate frames against each other before choosing which one would become the cover.
- Checks the uploaded video and extracts frames to see the content.
- Reviews those frames and transcribes the speech.
- Reads the full transcript to find what the video actually says.
- Checks the camera cut and the caption areas in the frame.
- Reviews the frames in detail and checks a full frame at native size.
- Chooses the typeface and checks the available sound effects.
- Measures the audio, the screen bands and generates a sound effect.
- Analyses the bottom of the frame and reviews the footer closely.
- Chooses the best face for the cover, compares the candidate covers, prepares the base image, then builds the cover, the end card and the bands.
Step 9's comparison is the whole idea. A cover frame chosen because it happened to be first is a person mid-blink; one chosen by comparing candidates is a face that makes somebody in a group chat press play.
What does the result look like?
The video this was built from measures 1088x1920, H.264, 30fps, 33.44 seconds. What comes back is the same content framed for a chat: a deliberate cover frame, bands top and bottom carrying readable text, a sound effect on the turn, and an end card instead of a social call to action.
Nothing about it assumes a feed. There is no follow prompt and no platform furniture, because the person watching received it from somebody they know rather than from an algorithm.
When does this not work well?
Nothing at all makes a video get forwarded. What an edit can do is remove the reasons somebody does not open it in the first place, and that is a considerably smaller claim than it might sound like.
- Sharing cannot be engineered. People forward what they want to forward.
- Curiosity has to be honest. A cover that oversells is the last one anybody opens.
- Chat compresses heavily. Fine detail and small text suffer.
- Long videos do not travel. Under a minute is the practical ceiling.
- Forwarded video loses attribution. Anything you want credited goes on screen.
How do you fix a result that came back wrong?
Say what does not draw you in about it, and why. Vizard Agent keeps all the candidate covers, the transcript, the band measurements and the frame analysis, so the cover or the framing can change without rebuilding the video.
- "The cover is unflattering." Swapped for another candidate.
- "The text is unreadable in a chat." Restyled larger against the measured bands.
- "The ending just stops." An end card is built and added.
How does Vizard Agent compare to doing it yourself?
By hand this means exporting the video and then simply accepting whichever frame the platform happens to choose as its thumbnail, which is nearly always the very first one, which is nearly always somebody still walking into the shot.
| By hand | Vizard Agent | |
|---|---|---|
| The cover | Whatever the first frame is | Candidates compared and chosen |
| Text size | Sized for your screen | Measured against the frame's bands |
| The ending | Stops when the clip stops | An end card built deliberately |
| The format | A feed video, forwarded | Built for a chat from the start |
Common questions
Will this make people share it? Nobody can promise that. Vizard Agent removes reasons not to open it; the sharing is theirs.
Why does the cover frame matter so much? Because in a chat the video is a thumbnail with a play button until somebody presses it.
How long should it be? Under a minute. Longer videos rarely get passed on.
Should it have a follow prompt? No. Vizard Agent builds an end card instead, since this is not arriving from a feed.
Will the text be readable? Yes. Vizard Agent measures the frame's bands and sizes the text against them.
What is different from making a Reel? The cover is chosen rather than assigned, there is no platform furniture, and the ending assumes the viewer already knows who sent it.
Does chat compression hurt it? It does, noticeably. Vizard Agent keeps the detail large enough to survive it.
Can it add a sound effect? Yes. Vizard Agent places one on the turn, which helps where people watch with sound on.
Can I get a feed version too? Yes. Vizard Agent builds one from the same edit with the platform furniture put back.
Should my name be on it? On screen, if you want credit. Vizard Agent puts it in the frame rather than in a caption, because a forwarded video arrives stripped of everything except the file itself.
How is this different from a Reel? Chiefly in what it assumes. Vizard Agent knows the viewer already trusts whoever sent it, so the video does not have to earn attention from a stranger — it only has to be worth opening.
Does file size matter here? It does. Vizard Agent keeps it modest, because a video that takes a while to download in a group chat gets scrolled past before it arrives.
Does Vizard Agent check the result? Yes. It reviews the cover, the bands and the end card before delivery.
