How to stop captions doubling up when one photo dissolves into the next

Last updated 2026-10-10 · 2 min read

Ask Vizard Agent to keep the crossfades but stop the captions overlapping. A dissolve blends everything on screen, so two caption banners sharing it read as doubled text. It times each caption to fade out a moment before its photo starts to dissolve, so the picture blends and the words never meet.

What do you type into Vizard Agent?

Describe what you see rather than asking for different transitions. "The text doubles during the transitions" points at the timing of the captions, which is the cheap fix. "Remove the dissolves" throws away the smooth look you wanted and leaves the slideshow choppy.

The wording on each picture should be white so it stands out, and add one more kitchen picture. Keep the smooth transitions, but make sure two captions never show at the same time.

What does Vizard Agent actually do?

It separates the picture's timing from the text's timing, which in a typical slideshow template are locked together. Each caption gets its own fade that finishes before its photo starts leaving, so every dissolve happens between two pictures with only one piece of text, or none. When does this not work well?

When the photos are too short. If each picture is on screen for two seconds, a caption that has to leave early is only readable for a moment, and you are better off with fewer photos or hard cuts. Captions that run across two photos on purpose need a separate text layer that does not fade with either picture.

Common questions

Why does my text look doubled in the transitions? Two captions share the dissolve. Vizard Agent times them apart.

Do I have to lose the crossfades? No. Vizard Agent keeps the picture dissolve and moves only the text.

What about the last card? Vizard Agent holds the final text instead of fading it.
