How to make a before-and-after transformation video

Most of the run is inventory and measurement rather than editing. Contrast is a deliberate choice: the before has to look ordinary, because if both halves get the same polish the change reads as smaller than it was. This was a real transformation shoot of eighteen clips, some wide and some vertical. In the session behind this article it:

When does this not work well?
The failure is almost always narrative. Vizard Agent can't reliably tell before from after: in this session the user asked directly whether it could, and labelling the clips makes the problem disappear. A polished before kills the video, and if the halves were framed differently, the change reads as a change of equipment.
