How to make a product ad video from a product link
Paste the product URL into Vizard Agent and say where the ad will run. Vizard Agent reads the page, writes a script from what the product actually is, uses the listing's own images and generates whatever shots are missing, then returns a finished ad cut to that platform. You do not storyboard, source footage or edit anything.
What is the short version?
Three moves, and the first one is a copy-paste. Vizard Agent treats the product page as the brief, so the work that normally comes before an ad exists — deciding the angle, writing the script, finding footage — happens inside the same request rather than as three separate jobs handed between people.
- Go to Vizard Agent and paste the product link into the chat.
- Say where the ad will run and how long it should be.
- Watch what comes back, and change anything you do not like by replying.
The rest of this page is what goes into each of those, and where the approach stops working.
What do you need before you start?
A live product URL, and a decision about where the ad is going. Everything else is optional. Because Vizard Agent builds the ad from the page, the page is the input that decides the result — a listing with three sharp product photos and a clear title gives it far more to work with than one with a single dark photo and a model number for a name.
- A public product page. A link behind a login, a region lock or an aggressive bot block is a page Vizard Agent cannot read.
- Usable images on that page. Product photography is what the ad is built around. Low-resolution or heavily watermarked images limit the result more than anything else here.
- A destination. "For TikTok" and "for my Amazon listing" produce genuinely different edits — different aspect ratio, different opening seconds, different pacing.
- Your own footage, if you have it. Optional, but real product-in-use shots raise the ceiling. Attach them and Vizard Agent will cut them in.
What do you type into Vizard Agent?
Vizard Agent ships this as a template, and the template prompt is already the right shape: a link, a length, and a destination. Those three are what change the output most, which is why they are the three things it asks for. Fill in the two brackets and send it with nothing else attached — Vizard Agent goes and reads the page itself.
Prompt
Three variants worth keeping:
When you have your own footage
When you know the angle you want
When you need several versions to test
What are the steps inside Vizard Agent?
Three, and there is no storyboard stage between them. Vizard Agent reads the page, writes the script, assembles the shots and cuts the ad as one request, so the review happens on a finished video rather than on a script you have to imagine as one.
- Paste the link into the Vizard Agent chat with the prompt above.
- Pick the tier that matches the job. For anything commercial, the product itself recommends Max — the free Flash tier is built for quick, simple edits, and a paid ad is not that.
- Reply with what you want changed. "Cut the intro, start on the product" is a valid instruction; you are steering an edit, not filing a revision request.
What does the result look like?
A finished ad in the aspect ratio of the platform you named, with a script, voiceover, captions and music already in place. Vizard Agent returns it as a single video you can post as-is, and the individual assets it generated along the way stay in the project so you can reuse them for a second version.
It is not instant. Across ads and promos actually made this way, the median run takes about 28 minutes end to end and costs about 82 credits, with the middle half of projects landing between 15 and 47 minutes and between 48 and 251 credits. Longer source footage and more revisions push toward the upper end.
When does this not work well?
The ad is only as good as what Vizard Agent can learn about the product, and every failure here traces back to that. These are the cases where a product link is not enough, and each one is worth checking before you spend the render:
- The page is unreadable. Login walls, region locks and bot protection stop the read. Attach the images and a short description instead, and it works from those.
- The images are poor. One dark photo on a busy background is the single biggest limiter. Nothing downstream recovers detail the source never had.
- The product is unfamiliar or ambiguous. A niche industrial part named by model number can give no sense of what it does. Say what it is in one line and the script gets it right.
- Regulated claims. Supplements, medical devices and financial products carry wording rules that no generated script knows about. Treat the copy as a draft your compliance reviewer still reads.
- Brand-critical work. If the ad has to match an existing campaign frame for frame, describe the look — or attach a reference — because "on brand" means nothing without one.
- Very long products. A 30-second ad for something that needs two minutes of demonstration can feel rushed. Ask for a longer cut, or a series.
If your product is regulated or the ad is the centrepiece of a launch, treat what Vizard Agent returns as a strong first cut rather than the final deliverable.
How do you fix a result that came back wrong?
Reply in the same Vizard Agent conversation instead of starting over. The page, the footage and everything it already built are still there, so you never re-upload or re-explain, and you are not billed again for work already done — only for what the new instruction actually costs. Whether it re-renders depends on what you change: swapping a line of voiceover is cheap, replacing the shots is closer to a rebuild. Describe the outcome you want, not the edit you imagine — "the first three seconds are boring" is something Vizard Agent can act on.
| What you see | What to say next |
|---|---|
| The opening does not grab | "Open on the product in use, not on the logo" |
| The script says something wrong | Correct the fact directly: "it is waterproof, not water-resistant" |
| Wrong tone for the audience | "Make it feel like a friend recommending it, not a TV spot" |
| Too fast or too slow | Give a number: "make it 20 seconds and cut the middle section" |
| The wrong images were used | "Use the second and fourth photos from the listing only" |
How does Vizard Agent compare to making the ad the usual way?
The usual route has four stages and at least two people: write the script, source or shoot footage, edit, then grade and mix. Each stage waits on the one before it, which is why a simple product ad routinely takes a week of calendar time rather than an hour of work.
| Vizard Agent | Script → shoot → edit | |
|---|---|---|
| Input | A product link | A brief, a shoot, an editor |
| Time to a first cut | About 28 min (half fall in 15–47) | Days, once everyone is scheduled |
| Cost of a second version | Another sentence | Another edit session |
| Platform variants | Ask for all three at once | One export pass each |
| Ceiling on quality | Bounded by the source images | Bounded by budget |
Neither replaces the other. Vizard Agent wins on speed and on volume — testing five hooks costs almost nothing — while a shoot still wins when the product has to be seen in a way no existing image shows.
Common questions
Does Vizard Agent need my own footage?
No. A product link is enough, and Vizard Agent will generate the shots the ad needs. Your own footage raises the ceiling rather than being a requirement — real product-in-use clips carry a credibility that generated shots do not.
Can it make several versions for A/B testing?
Yes, and it is the cheapest thing to ask for. Request three versions with different hooks in one instruction and keep the product shots consistent, so the test measures the hook rather than the whole ad.
Which platform should I name?
The one you will actually post to. Vizard Agent uses it to decide aspect ratio, length and how fast the opening moves, so "for TikTok" and "for my Amazon listing" are not interchangeable labels — they produce different edits.
Can I use my own voice instead of a generated voiceover?
Attach a recording and say to use it. It needs a clean sample of one person speaking, roughly 10 to 90 seconds, with no music or second voice over it. Without one, Vizard Agent generates the voiceover, which is faster but sounds like every other generated voiceover — your own is worth the extra step for a brand ad.
Who is responsible for the claims in the script?
You are. Vizard Agent writes from what the product page says, and a page can be wrong or out of date. For anything regulated, read the script before it goes anywhere near a paid placement.
