What does Vizard Agent actually do?
You film two minutes to post twenty seconds of it, and finding the right twenty means watching yourself back over and over. There's no automatic measure of whether someone looks good in a frame, so the method is simply to extract the candidates and look at each one. In the session behind this article it:
- Surveyed the shots and poses across a 138.64-second phone recording and located the light adjustments the user wanted excluded.
- Checked the audio, identified the track playing behind it, and looked at past projects for the user's style.
- Reviewed preview thumbnails in five sweeps: 0 to 30 seconds, 32 to 62, 64 to 94, 96 to 126, and on to the end.
- Extracted detailed frames of every candidate moment and inspected them one range at a time in eight separate passes, then rechecked moments it hadn't shortlisted first time.
- Cut seven clips into exactly twenty seconds, then extracted check frames for each and reviewed them in groups. Nineteen of the session's forty-five steps were simply looking at frames.
When does this not work well?
There's no objective measure of a flattering shot, so this is a judgement made by looking, and in the end your judgement about your own face is the one that counts. No selection rescues bad light, "the bad bits" isn't a list Vizard Agent can apply, and seven clips in twenty seconds is tight.
